DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's and women's fencing squads will open the 2025-26 season in Columbus, Ohio, on the campus of The Ohio State University. Multiple WSU student-athletes will compete in the OSU Open on Saturday, October 11, followed by the OSU Duals on Sunday, October 12.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
The OSU Open will be an individual event that includes men's and women's competition in all three weapons (epee, foil, and sabre). Saturday will begin with women's epee and foil bouts at 8:30 AM, with the women's sabre competition to start at 9:45 AM. The men's portion of the event is slotted to begin at 12:30 PM with the men's epee. Men's foil will follow at 1:45 PM, with men's sabre closing the day at 3:00 PM.
On Sunday, the Green and Gold will see action in the OUS Duals. The first bout will begin at 8:30 AM, while the final competition will start at 3:15 PM. The OSU Duals is a team event that will have seven squads participating, as Wayne State will be joined by Cleveland State, Denison, Michigan, Ohio State, OSU's Club team, and Purdue.
