DEARBORN, Mich. -- The No. 23 Wayne State University men's golf team wrapped up the 2024-25 regular season on Monday much like most of the season before it, with a win. The Warriors triumphed in their own Motor City Meltdown at TPC Michigan among a field of nine teams and did so with a two-round score of 583 (+7), 11 strokes better than Ferris State in second place. Individually,
Josh DiCarlo claimed Medalist Honors for the third time in his career and second instance this season with a 143 (-1).
"What a battle in the 35 mile an hour wind gusts!," said head coach
Mike Horn. "Ferris State played really well and had us down until about six holes to go. We took over and really played well in awful conditions coming in. Congratulations to Tyler (Hurtubise) and Luc (Warnock) in making the All-Tournament Team and congratulations to
Josh DiCarlo on his third medalist win. That puts him in the elite company. Outstanding play from
Andrew Daily shooting a 71 in the second round. I believe that is the only score under par in the second round. Also hats off to Andrew and
Ian Smith for finishing just outside the top five."
