DEARBORN, Mich. -- Hosting the Motor City Shakedown at TPC Michigan, the Wayne State University men's golf team is in second place among the five-team field through 36 of 54 total holes. Individually,
Josh Lahner (Roselle, Ill. / Lake Park) and
Will Pollack (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern) hold the top two spots, respectively.
"The boys battled back today," said head coach
Mike Horn. "The greens and the golf course played firm and fast and it got the best of us in the morning, but the boys rebounded well in the afternoon, especially
Josh Lahner with a stellar 67. We've got to get more consistent and we need more consistency in the depth and then we will be exactly where we want to be. Excellent round by Davenport today. We are hoping to put some pressure on them early tomorrow, but we need all six guys clicking right from the start and can't have a slow start."
