Men's Fencing Adds Three Sabreists for 2025-26

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's fencing team under the guidance of third-year head coach Andy Tulleners has announced the addition of three sabreists to bolster the 2025-26 squad.

The three newcomers are Connor Desautels (Redding, Conn. / Joel Barlow), Gabriel Dumoulin (Newtown, Conn.), and Gwyd Perry (Bloomfield, Mich. / Bloomfield Hills).

Connor Desautels, 5-8, Fr., Redding Conn. / Joel Barlow

  A 2025 graduate of Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Conn. ... was an AP Scholar with Distinction ... finished 36th out of 193 at the July 2025 Summer Nationals in the Division II Men's Sabre ... placed 20th out of 69 at the May 2025 Duel of the East Coast Junior Men's Sabre ... won the October 2024 Division III Mixed Sabre at The Great Pumpkin ... finished 12th out of 57 at the September 2024 Division II Men's Sabre at the Neil Lazar event ... competed for the Candlewood Fencing Center/Olympian Fencing Studio.
