DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's golf team is ready to open its 2026-27 campaign at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview. Hosted by Grand Valley State, the two-day tournament will be played with 54 holes and 18 total teams at The Meadows in Allendale.
"We are very excited to get the season underway," said head coach
Mike Horn. "Our boys have been really playing well all summer and that has continued for the start of our fall practice. I haven't been this excited and anticipated for a start of a season in a long time. These guys are really talented and ready to show the region what the new Warriors are all about."
When breaking down his roster, coach Horn had this to say:
"
Jack Julian had an outstanding summer winning multiple times and qualifying for almost everything he played in. And he actually shot a 62 this fall in practice.
Josh Lahner had an incredible summer as well making it past the local US Open qualifier. He has played very consistent and we're looking for big things out of him.
Luke Maher has gotten healthy and is really coming into his own.
Jacob Palomares has stepped right in as a freshman and is mature beyond his years.
Will Pollack has improved since last year and we're looking forward to his contributions. The rest of the roster has all improved including
Aidan Treharne,
Ethan Mukhtar,
Andrew Daily, and
Shawn Sehra.
Grant Ofield will join us at the end of the fall after having to sit out a couple of events and he qualified first through our fall practice. Go Warriors!"
