ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf team finished in third place for its first event of the 2026-27 season, the Midwest/Central Regional Preview at Grand Valley State's The Meadows Golf Course. The Warriors carded a 54-hole score of 872 (+20, 283-292-297), just three strokes behind Central Oklahoma in second and 10 shots outside of the host Lakers at the top.

Mike Horn. "Every one of our guys did not execute like they can and should. Overall, finishing third in a very strong field is excellent, but we let today slip through our hands. Having our freshman
Jacob Palomares lead us was very good for his first event and having four guys in the top 20 overall is pretty good, we but did not execute today like we will in the future!"
