Women's Indoor Track Concludes Jet's Pizza Invitational

Justice notches Provisional time in 3,000m race.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- A majority of the Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad competed on Friday and Saturday at the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invitational.

QUOTING COACH LOFDAHL
"We had an odd week with practice and rest days getting scrambled up, and people not feeling great going into the meet, but we did a lot of good things this weekend. The competition was strong with a lot of equally matched teams and talented athletes in every event.

"Our biggest highlights on Friday included Mikaela Owen's big PR in the 60-meter dash; Sasha-Gay Thompson qualifying for finals in both the 60m and 200m, and Aubrey Migoski's come-from-behind win in the 5K.

"On Saturday, we had nice efforts from Nevaeh Branson in the high jump, Makayla Stewart in the shot put, Rachel Felstow and Robin Bresolin in the mile, Avery Wilson and Elyse Miller in the 400m, Hanne Bastiaansen in the 200m, and Reagan Justice (just barely missing her own school record) in the 3K. Our 4x400 relay squad ran a solid season best and just missed getting the win.

"We've been focused on competing at a high level and getting a little bit better each week, and we definitely did that. With one month to go until the GLIAC meet, I like the position we're in and the direction that we are going as a group."
