DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's golf team is ready for its final tournament of the 2025-26 regular season. The Warriors will be at the Ohio Dominican Bill Blazer Memorial Match Play on Saturday and Sunday at Lancaster Golf Club in Lancaster, Ohio.
WSU is the top seed for the eight-team event and will first face eighth-seeded Thomas More beginning with a 9 a.m. tee time on Saturday. The complete bracket can be found at the link provided, but the first four matches can be found below as well. Also starting at 9 a.m. will be Saginaw Valley State vs. Malone. Then at 9:50 a.m., Ohio Dominican vs. Jefferson will commence as well as Lewis vs. Kentucky Wesleyan.
The second group of matches on Saturday is scheduled to begin around 1:30 p.m.
"This will be a great tune-up for the conference championship," said head coach
Mike Horn. "We are really needing to show consistency. We've had a lot of great individual performances, but we haven't had more than two or three guys playing well at one time. If we can get all players to be playing to their capabilities, it would be hard to stop the Warriors! Looking to follow up on last week's individual performances with consistency and I think the weather is going to cooperate this weekend and we should have the perfect amount of rest and reps going into the conference tournament."
