LANCASTER, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's golf team handled its business on Saturday for day one of Ohio Dominican's Bill Blazer Memorial Match Play. In their first match, the top-seeded Warriors defeated eighth-seeded Thomas More 5-0 before taking care of fifth-seeded Malone 4-1 in the nightcap. WSU will play for the Championship on Sunday against the two seed and host, the Panthers.
"I'm very happy with how the boys performed today," said head coach
Mike Horn. "Congratulations to Andrew, Josh, Troy and Grant for winning both of their matches today, and a great job by Will shooting even par in the individual event. I'm very happy with how the boys kept their composure and played very consistent all day long. We're looking forward to giving it our best effort in the championship match tomorrow."
