Men's Golf In Search of Back-to-Back GLIAC Championships

Wayne State won the 2025 title, the program's first since 2003 and second in program history.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's golf team will look to defend its 2025 GLIAC Championship this Thursday and Friday at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.

Coach's Corner
"This is a young team that has a chance to do something special," said head coach Mike Horn.  "If they perform like they can, we can finish near the top and play for the championship, but we have to be ready to go and have to be consistent for the entire 54 holes.  This team's got a lot of positive things to build on for next year and doing well at the tournament will just be another step in that process.  I'm challenging these young Warriors and asking who is going to step up and lead us this week?!"

Tournament Format
The nine-team field will play 36 holes on day one followed by 18 more on the morning of day two for the Stroke Play Championship, which determines the individual Medalist Honor.  Then Friday afternoon, the top two teams from those 54 holes will go head-to-head for 18 more and the Medal Match Play Championship.
