Mary Ellen Leisering begins her first year at Wayne State as a sports information intern.

She graduated from Mercyhurst College in 2006 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in sport media. She assisted the sports information office at Mercyhurst for four years as a student assistant.

While at Mercyhurst, she did a four month internship (Jan.-Apr. [apos]05) with the Erie SeaWolves, the double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
