Kimberli Bowman begins her fifth year at Wayne State University as an Assistant Director of Athletics and Director of Compliance. Bowman joined the WSU staff in September 2001 and her responsibilities include overseeing a comprehensive NCAA compliance program for administration, coaches and athletes of 17 sports which incorporates both Division I and Division II rules and regulations. She is the liaison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was chosen to implement and run the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills program, creating standards of excellence for student-athletes in five main areas: academics, athletics, personal development, career development and community service. Bowman currently serves as liaison to various offices on campus such as Admissions, Housing, Financial Aid, Bursar, Academic Advising, Records and Registration and is a former sport coordinator for both Division I and Division II men[apos]s and women[apos]s sports. A 1995 graduate of the University at Buffalo with a degree in motivational psychology, she worked with the Bulls football and cross country and track and field teams. During the 1996-97 school year, Bowman was a guidance counselor at Christian Central Academy in New York. An avid supporter of fine arts, Bowman produced and directed the CCA school musical, [quote]The Music Man.[quote] She then returned to the University at Buffalo Division of Athletics from 1997-2000 as the Recruiting and Eligibility Coordinator in the Office of Compliance, serving two of those years as a member of UB[apos]s Professional Staff Senate before joining the staff of Northern Arizona in January of 2000 as the Director of Compliance. Bowman is single and resides in Novi.
