Gloria Martinez Perez, who was a three-year swimming letterwinner (2012-15), was a four-time national champion and an 18-time All-American.

Martinez Perez helped the Warriors win the 2012 national team title, place second in 2014 and fifth in 2015. In addition, WSU won the GLIAC title all three years she swam.

Three of her four national relay titles came in 2012 (200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley), while also being a member of the 2014 200 free relay national champions, which set an NCAA record.

A 13-time First Team All-American, Martinez Perez earned top eight honors in 10 relays and three individual events, along with five Honorable Mention All-American certificates (two individual events, and three relays).

She still holds four WSU records in the 100 fly and 200 individual medley and as a member of both the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.

During her three seasons of competition, Martinez Perez competed in 20 events at the GLIAC Championships garnering nine first-place finishes, one second, three third, two fourth and five fifth-place finishes.

She was a three-time GLIAC Champion in the 400 medley relay, a two-time champion in the 200 free relay, plus one title each in the 800 free relay, 200 medley relay, 100 fly and 200 individual medley.

In fact, her 2014 relay quartets in the 200 free and 400 medley still hold the GLIAC Championship meet record.

Academically, she was a named to the GLIAC All-Academic team as a senior and has earned two degrees from WSU - bachelor's in Kinesiology and a master's in Exercise and Sports Science. Martinez Perez is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Kinesiology.
