Jen (Rock) Buslepp was a six-time letterwinner (two each in cross country [2010-11], indoor track [2013-14] and outdoor track [2013-14]) and became the first All-American in Outdoor Track program history with a sixth-place finish in the 10,000m race at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
A year prior in 2013, she captured the first outdoor track and field GLIAC title in program history winning the 10K race. Â With a third-place finish in the 5,000m race, Rock accumulated 16 points for the Warriors at the league meet.
In 2014, Rock was the 5K champion at the league’s outdoor meet, plus was second in the 10K race.
At the 2013 GLIAC Indoor Track Championships, Rock placed fifth in the 5k race to earn the first-ever point at the conference meet for WSU. Â The following year, Rock grabbed a runner-up finish in the 5K race at GLIACs.
Rock was both All-Region and All-GLIAC in her final cross country season with finishes of 18th and 12th, respectively in 2011. Â She won two regular-season meets (Detroit Titan Invite and Raider Run 8K).
In 10 of her 14 races for the Green and Gold, after transferring from Loyola (Chicago), the Macomb, Mich. native finished in the top 20, including six top-five performances.
After college, she competed for the Hanson’s Brooks Original Distance Project (2014-2016) qualifying and running at the 2016 United States Olympic Marathon Trials.
Academically, Rock graduated with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science and was a five-time member of the GLIAC All-Academic Team (once in cross country, and twice each in indoor track and outdoor track). Â She also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in cross country.
