Dylan Szegedi was a four-year diving letterwinner (2011-15), who was a two-time national champion and an eight-time All-American.
WSU’s 2013-14 Male Student-Athlete of the Year, Szegedi was a six-time First Team All-American (top eight) and a two-time Honorable Mention All-American (9-16).
He won the one-meter diving competition at the 2013 NCAA Championships, then claimed the three-meter title in 2015 with a school-record score of 587.65.  His national title in 2013 was the first in 31 years for a WSU men’s diver.
Over his final three years at the NCAA Championships, Szegedi had two first-place finishes, one runner-up, two third-place finishes and one fourth-place finish.
Szegedi was a three-time GLIAC Diver of the Year (2012-14-15), winning five conference titles (one-meter in 2012-14-15; and three-meter in 2014-15). Â He was the runner-up the three times he did not take first place.
A 2013 Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-American, Szegedi was a three-time GLIAC All-Academic honoree (2013-14-15), and a seven-time member of the Academic Honor Roll, including three times earning Warrior Elite status (term GPA 3.5+). Â He was a CSCAA First Team Scholar All-American in both 2012 and 2013.
Szegedi, an Oregon, Ohio native and graduate of Toledo St. Francis de Sales High School, earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.
