Ana Carolina (Carol) Azambuja was a four-year swimming letterwinner (2011-14), who was a 24-time All-American and a 10-time national champion.

Showing her versatility, Azambuja competed in 11 different events at the national championships, including all five relays plus six different individual events.

She received 22 First Team All-American certificates, while winning a national title in four different individual events (50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 200 back).

Azambuja won two national titles in both the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay.  She also won an NCAA title in the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay.

The 200 free relay finished second and third the other two years.  In addition, she was a member of three runner-up 400 free relay quartets, while also earning All-America status in the 100 back and 200 individual medley.

Azambuja set two NCAA individual records (50 free and 100 free, both in 2014), and was a member of three national record-holding relays (200 free in 2014, 200 medley and 400 medley, both in 2011).

In WSU's national championship year of 2012, Azambuja was part of five national titles which all eclipsed the previous school record.

In addition to the team national championship in 2012, WSU finished second the other three seasons, and won the GLIAC Championship all four years.

The two-time (2013 and 2014) GLIAC Swimmer of the Year, Azambuja earned 19 conference titles (nine individually and 10 on relays), including seven as a senior in 2014.

In fact, she never finished lower than third in any of the 28 GLIAC Championship events she competed in.

Azambuja was on the GLIAC Champion 200 medley relay all four years, along with the two-time GLIAC Champion 200 free relay and 800 free relay, plus the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay, which each won one conference title.

She won two GLIAC titles each in the 50 free, 100 back and 200 back and one conference title in the 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM.

At the time of her graduation, Azambuja held four individual WSU records and was part of all five relay records.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Azambuja earned her degree in Public Relations.  She was on the Academic Honor Roll three times.
